On a day like today

Mr. Man called me, "What is going on? There was a shooting at an elementary school?" So I read him the news and then I said, "How on earth do we keep our kids safe?" Mr. Man sighed and said, "I'm not sure we are ever safe."

But for today I'm grateful both kids are home sick with me safe in my bed. I am taking the time to snuggle with my kids and savor these quiet moments. If there is anything I have learned over the past few years, each day is a gift.
